EBIT

EBIT

EBIT (operating profit) is the abbreviation for Earnings Before Interest and Taxes.

The screener uses EBIT exactly as the company reports it in its income statement. Items the company shows below operating profit are not included - for example gains or losses from selling a business or a building, changes in the value of investments, interest income, and its share of the profit of companies it only partly owns.

If a company report one-off items inside their operating profit (for example restructuring costs or write-downs) those are included in EBIT because we follow the company's own reported number.

We have used the reported operating profit since 6 October 2026. Before that date we calculated EBIT as net profit plus tax plus interest, which included one-off gains. Past values in the historical screener were not changed.

EBIT is only used for calculation purposes and is not available as a screening value.

Remember

All ratios are calculated on a trailing 12 months (TTM) basis.

This means the last twelve months (not the company’s financial year) is compared to the same period in the past. We do this to make sure that the screener data includes the latest, most up to date, financial results of the company.
